More a Show and Ask

Whoop whoop today is our Purple Show and Tell on Purplecoo . . .www.purplecoo.com

Some of the flowers I have put up are, I think, purple wild flowers and I haven't got a clue what they are (hangs head) so if you know please tell me . . . .thank you.

This one I know it is a Scottish Thistle with an obliging Bee

This one I know as well it is my madly flowering Cape Primrose - which is an indoor plant.

Another type of thistle . . . it is tall and untidy and leggy looking.

No idea what this is - it grows in a big bush with these lovely bell flowers.

Yeah yeah I know it is more pink than purple . . . it is growing wild around here - no idea what it is.

I have been told this is a wild Orchid - but I don't know for sure.

This one is a climber and I found it wound around nettles . . . the leaves are Mimosa like.

Bit Campanula like . . .

So that is my Purple Show and Ask.

Thank you for looking.

Beautiful photos, very professional, you've been having lessons! The one with the unknown bell flowers and the drops of dew on is perfect. Off to do mine now...

Lovely photographs. At the risk of appearing like a sad swot I'll have a bash at identification. There a millions of thistles so I'll skip that one, the bell flowers are probably comfrey (has it got big leaves?) the next is yarrow (it has a very strong smell)
The one like an orchid could be pyramid bugle, then comes a guess at tufted vetch. The last is a harebell, usually known as scots bluebell. What do you think?

Those purply blooms are truly lovely as mysterious flowers ... but how wonderful to have Lampworkbeader identify them. Often I will be reading a book whose author mentions flowers unknown to me. I am delighted to now be able to put a name to a face, so to speak.

Fantastic photographs, WW. I especially like the Cape Primrose, but they are all beautiful flowers.

Definitely Comfrey/anchusa, then Yarrow, and maybe a small campanula or harebell .
Lovely photos.

Oh dear, I'm afraid it's 'show and haven't a clue' with me. Still, I enjoyed the photos... now off to check your randomness!

Most purply. The Campanula looks a little like the flower I found and then lost. Thanks so much for organising this. Great fun.

It makes me want to nip out into the garden straight away! Mind you, it's still dark and I'm not sure how to turn the flash on.

Did you know that your comments don't have your URL attached?

Just thought I'd mention it.
Cheers

So how come I can't get Purplecoo rss?

This is far too technical for me. I need a really easy answer.
Best wishes

LWB was spot on with ID I think- except not sure if it is yarrow as cant see the leaves. If it has huge splayed leaves it isyarrow, but if it is fine feathery leaves it might be achillia.
